Peter Murphy - The Troubadour June 29th

Headed up to LA on Wednesday to see Peter Murphy play the Troubadour, which of course rocked. He covered most of the new "Ninth" album, which to be honest, needs a couple plays before it really starts to grow on you. My wife and I have seen Peter probably about 6-t times together and the venues are always awesome. We've been at the tried and true House of Blues shows, but its shows like this one at the Troubadour and clubs like the Galaxy theater where Peter really gets personal with the audiences. It literally was only about 120 people in the small club and it was basically a private show.

As I mentioned, he rocked most of the new album and pulled out a couple classics including Fall With Your Knife (video above) as well as Marlene Dietrichs Favourite Poem. He even pulled out some Bauhaus (which had a couple people wondering if Danny Ash was going to come walking out) And while we were bummed that he didn't close out his encore with Cuts You Up, I was stoked to see him pull out a cover and tribute to his friend Trent Reznor with a version of Hurt. The show was incredible as always.
